A request for a custom TPU football outsole can mean different things. One buyer may need a complete sole plate; another may want to adjust the stud layout, size range or logo on an existing design. A few details up front can save a round of sampling.

Start with the playing surface

Tell your supplier where the shoe will be used. A sole for firm natural ground has a different stud brief from one intended for artificial turf. If you have a reference shoe or outsole, send it along and mark what you want to keep or change.

Be specific about “lightweight” and “durable”

These words are useful goals, but they are not specifications on their own. Share what matters most for your project: sole weight, stud shape, flexibility, wear expectations or appearance. If you have a target or a sample to compare against, include it in the brief.

TPU is only one part of the decision. The sole’s geometry, material grade and connection to the rest of the shoe all affect the finished sample. Confirm the relevant details with your supplier before the mold or sample is approved. See how our custom sole development works.

What to include in your brief

Review the outsole on the shoe, not only as a separate part. Check the fit, stud positions and appearance, then agree on any revisions before production.
