A track spike outsole can look right in a photo but fit poorly around the toe or heel once assembled. Checking the sole against your shoe last before bulk production helps avoid unnecessary sample revisions.

Will the outsole fit your shoe last?

A matching size label alone is not enough. Compare the outsole length, forefoot width, heel shape and toe curve with your last. If you already have an upper or sample shoe, share its measurements or a physical sample with your supplier.

Does the spike layout suit your shoe?

Consider the intended event, spike positions and forefoot flexibility together. Check how the plate bends with the complete shoe. For removable spikes, confirm the fitting and thread specifications as well as the spike type.

For example, our TPU track spike outsole with longitudinal ribs is an existing design in CN sizes 35–45. It gives your team a starting point for checking the shape and forefoot layout against your shoe.

Check the assembled sample before ordering

Ask your factory to assemble a sample using your intended upper and production process. Check the fit around the toe and heel, the bonding area and the forefoot flex. Confirm the size breakdown, color and logo with your supplier before bulk production.

If your project requires a different sole shape or spike layout, discuss a custom mold. For competition footwear, check the applicable requirements for the finished shoe on the World Athletics technical information page and with the event organizer.

Discuss your track spike outsole project

Send us a reference image, your target sizes and estimated quantity. If you have a shoe last or upper ready, share the details so we can discuss suitable outsole options and samples.
